Lip Care… Is It Really Worth The Splurge?

Life With T

Since I started using skin care products one thing is for certain I LOVE MY LIP CARE …..and perhaps some will say a little too much, so much that I basically have a stock pile filled with all different brands ranging from EOS to Summer Fridays. Every time I make a Target run I find myself always purchasing another lip balm, butter stick or chap stick that promises “Oh you know…..perfect kissable soft lips”….but the truth is..What really works to combat dry chapped lips? What really works to keep our pouts plump, smooth and kissy, kissy ready? Do we really need to spend a ton of money? The answer is NO!

The other day I laid out all of my lip products and one by one and I started to throw them in piles narrowing down the ones that I reach for more than the rest, let’s dive in shall we?

Laniege is the most expensive on the list of favorites a popular Korean brand sold at Sephora. They also have a wonderful water sleeping mask for your face (just an FYI for all my dry skinned peoples out there). The lip mask is 22.00 but defintely worth the splurge if you want to treat yourself, it leaves lips soft and smooth and doesn’t rub off on my pillow when I am sleeping tossing and turning for most of the night. This is a great night time luxury lip mask to leave by your bed so you can easily throw this on your lips before drifting into…what we can only hope to be a peaceful night’s sleep. But even with all the praise’s on this beautiful product the next few can do the same job and will give you the same outcome for a fraction of the price.

Next up good old Vaseline which is now also sold in a stick form, snag yourself one for your bag you won’t regret it I promise. Keep a tub of this by your bed and you can use this gem for your lip, elbows, knees even your feet…(I do suggest purchasing a second jar if you plan to use some on your tootsies). Vaseline does the job of locking in moisture and the price point can’t be beat.

Aquaphor is in my opinion Vaseline. I have seen this gem heal my niece’s dry chapped lips overnight and heal the worst diaper rash on my nephew when he was a baby. I will not say one is better than the other they both work great and they both contain similar ingredients it all comes down to personal preference with these two.

Carmex works great but it’s not my favorite, the scent for me is just unappealing . However there are loyal fans of this product who would say otherwise and I will not argue the healing power of Carmex on chapped lips.

Lastly Palmers Cocoa Butter swivel stick is fairly new to my lip game I have been using this for a few weeks and I keep coming back to it. I feel like it sinks right into my lips doesn’t leave a sticky residue, has that lovely cocoa butter scent and leaves my lips smooth and hydrated.

No matter what your favorite is whether you have your own personal list or one from my list. Or maybe, your still on the hunt for one that works for you, lip care is important and an essential part of self care and everyone should take a little time to take care of themselves.

As always thank you for taking the time to read my latest blog, please stay safe sending love and positive vibes your way all day every day, until next time ❤❤
