Morning Skin Care Routine
Life With T
Morning skin care ….I have heard this way to much…… I don’t really have time….I can’t be bothered with all those steps but, the same way you brush your teeth is the same way you can protect and treat your skin and can do so in less than five minutes time without spending a ton of money. Your skin is your largest organ and that organ should never be neglected. One thing I never had any issues with is taking care of my skin. I have made some mistakes along the way, but since I was a teen skin care has been a priority one I have made time for morning and night.
With a ton of internet research, following dermotologists on Youtube, and good old trial and error I have really created a skin care routine that works for me, without it having to break the bank. And I have really learned what products do and don’t do, and how they interact with one another. So let’s break down the two skin care powerhouse’s you need for during the day.
I start my morning with a cold water rinse to wake up my skin I prefer to wash my face once a day to keep as much moisture locked in the skin as I can. I’ll then pat my skin dry and apply a vitamin c serum. Find one that works for your skin and don’t skip this step. The job of vitamin c is to fight free radicals, brighten the skin and with it’s best friend SPF you are ready to combat the day and the sun while keeping wrinkles and sun damage at bay.
- Cerave Vitamin C
- Madd Hippie Vitamin C
- Naturium Vitamin C super serum plus (currently my fav Susan Yara has dropped an amazing line of products)
- Drmtlgy Vitamin C
Your next step is to apply a sunscreen even when there is no sun out your skin is exposed to damage rain or shine. I tend to break out a lot from using sunscreens especially having to reapply through out the day. Using a mineral based sunscreen has really changed that for me. Over the past few years, I been using a few different sunscreens and I have narrowed down a few of my favorites. Mineral sunscreens generally leave a white cast on the surface of the skin but these brands do nothing but leave my skin looking glowy and fresh.
- Elta MD Broad Spectrum SPF 46
- First Aid Beauty Broad Spectrum SPF 30
- Cerave Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30
I will post a few links below if anyone is interested in purchasing any of the items I mentioned in this blog also they can easily be purchased at Target, Amazon and or Ulta beauty. Just to add don’t be afraid to add products to your morning routine as well like after rinsing your face in the morning and or washing if you prefer while your skin is still damp add a hyaluronic acid serum which really helps combat dryness and will lock in moisture. I generally use mine at night, but I will also use it during the day if my skin feels like it needs a drink. As long as you incorporate the two powerhouse products no matter what brand it may be as long as it works for you then your giving your skin the protection it needs each day. Remember skin can heal it just takes time and dedication, it’s never too late to start a skin care routine and start healing your skin from the outside in as well as the inside out.
