Night Time Skin Care
Majority of people do not make time to take care of their skin at night. But did you know the best time to apply skin care is before bed. It is the optimal time because while you are sleeping your skin gets busy repairing itself.
With so many products promising results the truth is besides botox and fillers no product will take away your wrinkles completely and frankly why would anyone want to. Eating right, drinking plenty of water, and mix in a few powerhouse products and you can keep your skin looking ageless for years to come.
I prefer washing my face only at night, in the morning I will do a cold rinse to awaken myself and my skin. I do this to retain as much moisture as possible. After washing I pat my skin dry and use a toner a hydrating toner to dampen the skin, while my skin is damp, is when and only when I apply hyalouronic acid. If you prefer to not use toner damp your skin with water but never ever apply hyalouronic acid to a dry face you will get no benefit from this and it can actually make your skin drier than before.
Next step is to apply a retinol/ retinoid/retin a/adapalene after you face dries down. There is scientific evidence showing people who use this vitamin a derivative can help keep fine lines and wrinkles in check and I assure you it works. I prefer to use differin it takes longer to work but it is proven to be more gentle not so drying as the prescription strength but listen if you can get your hands on the real deal from a dermotologist grab it use it but be gentle remember skin care is not a race it’s a every day commitment.
After my skin soaks in my differin which also helps with acne just an fyi a total win if you ask me, I will then apply a moisturizer. I have literally tried every damn moisturizer on the market and drug store always win’s. CeraVe/LaRoche Posay are beautiful moisturizers to name two I know that are gentle on the skin and keep the skin barrier healthy.
Of course there are those time’s I have needed something extra if tend to exfoliate my skin sometimes it can get dry so I will mix in some Rose Hip Oil which work beautiful if you need that extra moisture. I personally love the Teddy Organics brand on Amazon, I’ll just mix a few drops with my moisturizer and apply. Squalene oil is another that won’t clog pores and give you the added moisture your skin needs it is in many korean beauty products and non irritating. I’ll post some links of both oils in case anyone is interested.
Skin care doesn’t have to break the bank if you are consistent with the routine and giving your skin the self love it deserve’s it will show. It take’s time at least a few month’s, to really see if product’s are working for your skin. But this routine I suggest in this blog is a great way to ease into a routine, and you will be well on your way to dewy, beautiful, vibrant skin.
